Simon is part of the commercial leadership team at Avado, with overall responsibility for the success of its 300+ partnerships with UK apprenticeship clients. Before joining Avado, Simon spent 10 years in the voluntary sector working in corporate and philanthropic fundraising roles, before latterly leading on OnSide Youth Zones’ successful expansion in London. Throughout his time at Avado, Simon has built extensive experience in working with some of the UK’s largest and most successful apprenticeship employers, most notably leading on the continued success of Avado’s partnership with the UK Government.

I have been a Civil Servant for 15 years, previously in the private sector for over 10 years in the legal field. I am a very proud to be a specialist in Learning & Development crafting my trade over the last 5 years and gaining my CIPD accreditation via the apprenticeship scheme. I am even more proud of being the first Civil Servant with ArchAvado to complete my Learning & Development Consultant Business Partner back in November 2020. As a subject matter expert on apprenticeships, my role involves developing the scheme, selling it to the business, identifying the benefits of apprenticeships as a development tool and creating career pathways both in terms of new blood into the organisation and upskilling existing staff to make the best use of the levy. I am currently signing up to undertake the Level 7 apprenticeship by way of further personal development.
